Your file index lives on your Windows machine. Mo-Search does not upload file contents, filenames, or query history.

How updates work

Updates are delivered through the installer from the Meauxsoft website, and you decide whether to install one. By default Mo-Search checks whether a newer version exists: it requests a single small version file over HTTPS and nothing else. That request carries no filenames, no search queries, and no machine or user identifier — the server sees only what any web request shows, an IP address and which file was asked for. You can turn the check off in Mo-Search settings.

Common questions

Does Mo-Search send my files to the cloud?

No. Your index lives entirely on your local Windows PC. No file contents, filenames, or query history are ever uploaded.

Does Mo-Search require an internet connection?

Searching and indexing run entirely offline. By default Mo-Search also checks for a newer version over HTTPS, and that check can be turned off in settings.

Does Mo-Search auto-update?

Mo-Search checks for a newer version by default, and you can turn that off in settings. The check fetches one small version file over HTTPS and sends nothing that identifies you or your files. You still control whether to install.

Does the website use analytics?

The Meauxsoft website uses Google Analytics to measure page traffic. The Mo-Search application sends no analytics data.
